DRAMA TEAM
We have access in the public schools with our drama team. This started seven years ago.
Penny is the director and I do the music and drive. We have four skits. One is about the vices of life,
drugs, liquor and suicide. At the end, a Christian comes on the scene and with a compassionate heart goes
from one to another. Some respond, some don't. Another is about how God can heal a broken heart. This one is
done with just one girl who gives God her heart, takes it back to give to her boyfriend, he breaks it,
she gives it back to God, He repairs it and gives it back to her. She then gives it to God again.
The third is about Satan making puppets of us and God changing things. The dolls have no life until
God gives it. All goes well until Satan makes them hate each other. God returns and changes things.
The last is a comedy at a bus stop where two insensitive people make fun of everyone else but because a
Christian comes on the scene the two change their ways and embrace all those they had mocked.
We have presented these dramas in over 60 public schools.
When teen groups come to visit us they are trained, given uniforms and make up so we can make
the best presentation possible. We give each student a Chick tract and Tom usually gives his pre-salvation
story and testimony of how he became a Christian and then sings a song about how Christ found him in the ditch.
We have seen people weeping when the song is sung about how Jesus found us in the ditch and gave us eternal life.
We also do puppet stories. We have four short one. 1) Do not steal, 2) Do not lie, 3) Do not cheat and 4) Obey your parents.
The fact that most schools still have the 10 Commandments hanging on the wall gives us great license.
The teachers love these stories, as well as the students.
We give everyone a Chick tract to take home. It is a wonderful way to get the story of Christ into public school kid's homes.
