Tom - Born on March 7, 1945 and
raised by his grandparents in Lebanon,
Oregon . He served in the Navy during the
Vietnam War. On May 6, 1964 he was invited
to the Calvary Baptist Church of San
Francisco by Richard Edwards, a fellow
sailor on the USS Interceptor. That night
Tom accepted Christ and graduated from
Pillsbury Baptist Bible College in Owatonna,
Minnesota in 1969. After four years of
studies at Central Baptist Theological
Seminary in Minneapolis, Minnesota, he
graduated in 1973. He earned his Doctor of
Ministry degree from Luther Rice Seminary in
1987.
Tom and Penny applied for missionary work to
Brazil in 1973 and arrived on the field
October 1, 1976. He likes high school and
college wrestling and motorcycles. Four
years ago, he finally realized a dream of 44
years by purchasing a 1997 Harley-Davidson
Heritage Softtail. Fortunately, in Brazil,
he can ride it every day.
He also realized another dream by starting a
wrestling ministry in the church and public
schools.

Penny Sue (Stimpson) Latham -
Born in Detroit, Michigan on Oct 23, 1948.
Penny accepted Christ in January of 1961 at the
First Baptist Church of Pinole, California. She
immediately began witnessing to her family. She
attended Pillsbury Baptist Bible College in 1967
where she met Tom. They were married on June 8,
1968.
Penny finally graduated from Pillsbury in 1990
and earned a nursing degree in Brazil in 1998.
She likes crafts and makes various types to give
away. |

THE LATHAM FAMILY
Captain Thomas Latham is a chaplain in the 107nd Airborne, stationed
in Italy. Teresa is his wife. Their children are: (Tom-married to
Loren; they have Jack Thomas, and Luke Christian, our great-grandsons.
Tom is in the Air Force) ( Tim is graduationg from VMI,) and Tiffany
and Tiago, also in Italy). Shane is a missionary in Gravatai, Brazil
with his wife Erin and two children (Camilla and Gabriel). They have
started a couple of churches that are now under national leadership.
Kosette is married to Mike Cambre and they live in Mendenhall, MS. |
