Christian Evangelical Wesleyan College in Vladimir, Russia began in 1996 to train future leaders for the church in Russia. Students are involved in leadership training as future pastors, church planters, missionaries, or as local church ministers. Several students are involved just to learn more about God's Word, the Bible. Practical instruction is provided by professors in classroom settings. Students are also involved in the ministries of the church as part of their education.
Purpose Statement
CEWC exists to exalt Jesus Christ and make him known by preparing Christian workers for service in the Church. We believe that every Russian should have the opportunity to worship in a Bible-based church that proclaims Jesus as Lord, and to that end we endeavor to train up workers to plant these bodies of believers for strengthening until the return of the Lord.
Programs of Study
Christian Evangelical Wesleyan College offers two programs of study. The first is the one-year church worker's certificate. People interested in learning more about the Bible or learning more about being involved in local church ministry are recommended to take this course.
The second program is the three-year diploma in church leadership. This is the recommended course for those who feel a definite call into pastoring, church-planting, or into missionary service.
Recently changes have been made to the scheduling of classes. Classes now take place in the evenings and on Saturdays. This allows our students to continue working while they study. It also allows others from our churches to attend a class or two if they desire. Many take advantage of this opportunity.
Staff at CEWC
Elena Davedianova is currently the director of Christian Evangelical Wesleyan College. Besides taking care of administrative details, she also teaches. We are blessed to also have several Russian teachers on staff, including Anton, Inna, and Nadesha. Tonya serves as the CEWC secretary. In addition to these, we also invite teachers to come and teach intensive classes. These usually take place in January, March, and May.
