Immigration Visa and GP Application
For the past week and a half Gelya has been working practically arround the clock trying to complete the application for Global Partners and gathering documents and records for her interview at the US Embassy (which required multiple trips all over town to various medical clinics and the police station). As I write this prayer letter, she is down to her final short answer question and then she can breathe easy. On Wednesday we spent the day in Moscow for Gelya's official medical exam (also a US Embassy requirement) and even with an appointment, we spent over 4 hour simply waiting for the doctor to see her (some things are the same no matter where you are in the world!!!).
While Gelya has been working on those things, my time has been divided between end-of-fiscal-year fianncial reports and camp preperations. Whereas the summer is a 'slow' time for many of the other missionaries here in Vladimir, it is my busiest time of the year, but also the most enjoyable.
Vladimir Church Camp
On Monday, former GoNet missionaries Larry & Bette Johnson and Dave & Kay Vardaman will arrive along with 9 others from the Johnson's church (Central Wesleyan Church, Holland, MI) to sponsor and help lead our first ever Church-wide camp. The camp will actually start on Thursday afternoon and will run through Sunday evening. Dave Vardaman and pastor Anton Dmitriev will share the main speaking responsibilties and the CWC team will lead seminars and classes. The main responsibilties for Gelya and myself, besides being on the organizing committee, are leading one of the small groups and some of the all-camp activities.
Youth Bible Festival
After seeing off the CWC team in Moscow, we will have less than a week before another team arrives to help with our annual youth camp. Another Michigan church (Spring Lake Wesleyan) is providing a team and sponsoring this camp. Gelya and I will serve as head counsilors and I will aslo be in charge of sports and Gelya will be on the worship team. Already we have over 100 participants signed up for this camp.
Gelya and I will actually have to leave the camp for a day in order to go to Moscow for her interview at the US Embassy. She is a little apprehensive about the interview and I will not even be allowed to accompany her inside the embassy for moral support. We would both appreciate your prayers regarding this interview, the entire visa process and all the other camp ministries.
Again we thank you for your faithful prayers and we value you as part of our ministry.
